Finally rolled into Grand Junction around 9! Steve was in Speed Racer mode from Golden to GJ and couldn't be swayed otherwise to give up the wheel. After parking the van in a sea of diesel 4 x 4's we decided to head to the hotel lounge and join the division of wildlife convention for a beer..... um, actually we changed out minds and headed into downtown GJ and hit up a local brewpub to try a few samples of homegrown brew. The rest of the night was a wash- both of us tired and begging for sleep, but not before a couple of Jack Link's- I dropped mine on the floor and then we went to bed.

We made it to Denver in about 17 hours. Everything is going smooth so far.

We drove up a cray set of switchbacks up a mountain road to get to the top where the Buffalo Bill grave and museum are. After that, we decided to ride a little and found a sweet trail right off the highway... it was a bear going up-tons of rocks and stuff, but flying down made it worth it.
We needed to get out of the van for a bit, so that was nice.
